My son loves this aqua craft Rio ep. No problems with the frequency. The distance it can go is pretty awesome. We mistakenly drove it through some seaweed, but we were able to break it free quite easily. I do wish the drive time was more than 20 minutes. I may buy my son a second battery, but it gives ample warning to get it back before it dies.
I had the boat for about 2 years. I am not new to r/c boating and own at least 14 boats. The stock electronics are normal aqua craft quality and lasted quite a while, and the ESC and motor had to be replaced after a year. The boat does not come with a battery (3300 NiCad) and will have to be supplied with your own. The boat is always quite fun to run and its usual speed is 15-18 mph. The twin rudders give great steering potential and are not in the way of the propeller to create drag. The water cooling system is reliable and never clogs/leaks. It may flip over in strong wind since the hull is quite long and catches wind underneath it. It is usually very dry inside but may have a small amount of water inside after running. The flex shaft also has to be frequently lubricated.
